“Rooting for the Underdog” is a well-loved concept in the entrepreneur world.
We love hearing these hero stories that remind us that anyone who’s had massive amounts of success got there not because they were special, had exceptional IQ, or born into a rich family.
There’s a lot to earn and learn from people who have experieneced the opposite and yet they managed to get themselves out of that rut. (Believe me, I’ve been through a really bad phase of depression…)
In this None of Your Business episode about cultivating the underdog mindset, Zach and I talked about:
- Zach’s story of growing up in juveniles, psych wards, and spending 5 years in prison
- Getting out of THAT cycle of toxicity, loss, and lack of positive motivation
- What really makes underdogs and the underdog mindset exceptional especially for someone who is starting a business
- “When you have something to prove, or someone to prove wrong, sometimes that brings out the best in you”
- A mindset shift for underdogs to change the belief that they are “below someone”
- Real talk on the phrase “fake it til you make it”
- A lesson on setting boundaries and parameters at work
- Would you hire underdogs? Zach shares why and how.
As someone who has earned his first million, moved into his dream lake house with his family of 6, and turned his business around in a span of 2 years, there’s a lot to learn from Zach for sure. Check out all the fun things he’s doing at UnderdogEmpowerment.com.
Fun fact: Zach is one of our first clients at ProximityPlacements! We support underdogs of all colors and help them build and scale amazing hands-free businesses. 🙂 Mention this podcast episode to get a special deal and bonus from us and Zach.
