Train Yourself to Eat Less and Eat Better

A lot of people struggle with weight loss. It’s one of the toughest battles we have to fight over and over again. What can we do? Clothes look better on a slim figure. When you’re fit, you also feel better and lighter. Most of all, being not fat is better for our hearts and our health. Maybe we’ll even trick ourselves into living longer, right?

That said, the most foolproof plan is to get on a reliable diet and exercise. This is the truly the best way to go since it’s natural and at the end of the day, it’s healthier. Sure you can spend for radio frequency treatments or a liposuction operation but these procedures cost a lot. So you’re still best with the good old diet and exercise.

If you are one of those people who don’t want to engage in heavy exercise and deathly diets that make you go crazy hungry, what you really need to do is to train yourself to eat less. If you’re lazy, just do a little cardio or yoga on the side and eat less and I tell you, you’ll lose at least a pound per week until you’re at your ideal weight.

First off, eat in smaller portions. For added optical illusion, you can eat using a smaller plate and smaller spoons. At first it will be difficult for you to ditch the one-cup-of-rice a meal habit but as you go along, you will finally notice that it’s not actually that hard and that you can eventually say no to rice anyway. Today, I struggle just to finish one cup of rice. Before, I used to demand three cups to finish a 2-piece burger steak meal. My, how times have changed.

Next up, eat slower. It takes a while before our stomachs feel full so it’s best to eat slower. Engage in conversation or just chew slower and enjoy each bite. I used to eat really fast. Most of my meals took 5-10 minutes only. I still gained weight. When I switched to eating slower and or keeping myself busy for every meal, I enjoyed my meals more, and I had better time control.

Another technique is to switch to meals with significantly lesser carb, more fiber and more protein. There was a time when I had only less than a week to prepare for a pageant. I switched to eating only cereal, salad and meat for a week. With an hour of yoga a day, I dropped around 8 lbs. in a week! I knew the diet switch did a lot too! Today, I still eat rice occasionally. But if I can avoid it, I avoid it. Most breakfasts are only cereal and low fat milk. I’ve never felt better. I don’t feel deprived because I can still eat my favorite lechon and small amounts of sweets. My clothes all hang well. Even my bowel movement is perfect.

Eating less is also eating smarter. Take better, healthier food picks and avoid fatty, oily, salty food as much as you can. Don’t forget to also hydrate yourself well so you’ll have enough fuel to go through your day. Now go have a great day, champion! 🙂
