Don’t let the summer bum you out. Whether it’s the heat killing you or boredom, remember that there will always be better things to do than sulk and whine. Instead, take a look at these things-to-do and make the most out of your summer.
Exercise! Another guaranteed way of making the most out of your summer break is to spend some time doing the things that make and keep you healthy. If you’ve been wanting to hit the gym to get that beach-ready body, for instance, you’ll be pleased to know a lot of fitness centers are offering special rates for this season.
Develop a new hobby. Trying out new things is going to help you remember your summer with fondness. With the plethora of choices that you have, you can look forward to going back to school armed with a new tool with which you can enjoy life. Who knows, you might even turn this into something income-generating!
See old friends. Turn your summer into a mini reunion series by seeing old friends like your high school barkada, your kababata, or even bond with your siblings. See movies, go to bars/ clubs (if you’re above 18), go shopping together, or hit the beach. Even the good old coffee/tea/wine
conversations work wonders! Take lots of pictures and make lots of smiles this summer.
Take a vacation. Reward yourself for notching that diploma or working extra had and take a break. Whether you’re into basking in the sunshine at a great resort, or hiking on an adventurous trail, a little vacation will give you the space you need so that you can prepare for the real world, after college.
Plan the next phase of your life. For the graduate, you do not have to take care of all the details, but a general blueprint of what you intend to do now that you have left school will guide you toward finding yourself where you want to be. Do you wish to pursue more education? Or are you going to try and practice your profession immediately? If you’re working, how about taking talks and workshops that help develop your skills? Maybe a career shift if you want. Just think about it thoroughly. When you figure out the answers to the big questions, you’ll have an easier time with sorting out everything that comes with them.
While universally held to be the season best enjoyed for entertainment, summer can also provide a good avenue for you to grow and develop into a better person. Take time to enjoy the sunshine, but don’t forget to make preparations for the rain.
