There are rumors about the iPhone 6 and iOS 7 lurking around the corner. Never mind that the iOS6 has not yet been reviewed by all tech maniacs. Never mind that you’re still halfway through saving for an iPhone5. Even CD-R King hasn’t released enough iPhone5 casings yet. App logs are eyeing June 2013 as an opportune time to release the new Apple phone and OS.
When asked about the expected upgrades, here are the snippets: 128GB internal memory, IGZO Retina+ screen,
a phone camera with super high definition, longer battery life and up to 8 casing colors. Another interesting thing is the new A7 quad-core processor that renders the home button useless and commands will be done with full gesture control.
Although these are just branded “rumors”, we still expect a stir from the market. After all, this is the shortest span of time that Apple releases a fully upgraded unit in less than a year. Remember, they announced iPhone5 just last September 2012. So far, this has also been the most “underwhelming” upgrade; as most tech bloggers still regarded the upgrades from iPhone 4S to 5 minutely incremental. In fact, many still believe that iPhone 4S is the best iPhone there is. Lastly, most versus reviews placed Samsung’s most advanced smartphone, S3 slightly on top of iPhone 5 in terms of over all usability.
Here in the Philippines, iPhone 5 opened with their units costing at around P45,000-P60,000 apiece. A month after, the cheapest brand new iPhone 5 went for P35,000 and on December, major telecoms were giving it for as low as P4,800 with an unlimited surfing and P800 consumable load bundle (P1799 a month). I even checked an online buy-and-sell site and someone was selling his brand new IP5 for only P31,500. Somehow, owning the latest iPhone just got easier and easier.
As of now, all we can do is hold our breath. Just like we always do. Rumors or no rumors, Apple will always cook something new for (most of) us to keep wanting more. QUESTION: Should we still give as much fuck?
