The Ultimate Date Place: Mamu's Restobar

Mother of date venues, that’s what Mamu’s is. Mother of carbonara, that’s what this yummy pasta is about. At face value, it really looks like carbonara. No surprise there, as the same ingredients are used except that this one’s creamier and the paste is only made of cream, bacon and mushrooms. No egg yolks and other extenders. From the moment it’s served, you’d feel in one with its mouth-watering aroma. After a helping, you won’t look at carbonara the same way again. Top it off with a glass of wine. A serving costs only a little below P300.

Aside from this yummy pasta, other dishes that caught my eye were the special homemade soup and the stuffed pork dish. As for the soup, the taste was a cross between a vegetable soup and a starchy mushroom one, plus the yolk flirting with it in the middle.

The pork dish tasted just right with the buttered beans on the side, lightly fried rice, and a drizzle of their special sauce. Both dishes were lovingly cooked and styled by Mamu’s Executive Chef, Alejandro Ferrazzini.

What’s more, we capped off the meal with a Belgian Chocolate Truffle…which was so good it made me realize all over again that chocolate was a basic human right.

Sorry we didn’t take pictures of the entire place. There were too many people and it would be awkward. Anyway, check it out, will ya? You won’t regret it. It’s the perfect date place. My ideal Valentine’s date would be at this place. Hands down. 🙂 Speaking of dates, if you’re lucky, you might even get to spend more time with your date at their rooms! Haha! Mamu’s sits in front of Annisabel Suites, an 18-room mini hotel where the rooms are 100% adorable and 500% elegant.
