My friends know me as a beauty junkie. I am always on the lookout for the next big thing in the Watsons shelves, the magazines and from friends. I was pretty happy with the stuff I’m using – a mixture of local and imported brands, cheap and pricey products—then a good friend, Ms. Jojie Alcantara, invited me for a little beauty soiree featuring Aromacology products.
Aromacology is a local beauty and wellness brand that started in Davao city. Their products are BFAD- approved and are made from naturally-based raw materials like herbs, flowers and fruit extracts. They are also tested on Asian skin, in classic Philippine climate.
I’ve known Aromacology for a while, but I never experienced they were so big outside Davao! Aromacology is a well-loved brand in Luzon and in Cebu, and some of their biggest dealers are from outside Davao as well. Right now, they cover a huge collection of beauty and wellness products—from mosquito repellents to organic soaps to beauty soaps, slimming products, healthy drinks to home aromatherapy gadgets.
Here are my favourites from their gorgeous portfolio:
Aromacology Cold Wax
I’ve been using this product for years! I bought my first small jar at Aromacology’s NCCC Mall kiosk in 2009. It’s easy to use, easy to clean and so effective. The kicker—you can use Substance 20 bond papers (yes, even scratch papers, just use the other side)—press onto your skin with wax for 5 seconds and then pull hard on the opposite direction of the hair growth. Voila! Smooth skin for 2-3 weeks. This product’s so safe you can even use it in your bikini area. One jar lasts me 6-8 months.
Seaweed and Peppermint Body Scrub
Dead sea salt scrub with seaweed extracts and peppermint scent? Take my money! This scrub will make your skin feel so smooth and soft on a long hot bath, after a long stressful day. The scent also gives off that extra spa feel. What’s more, it can aid in shedding off some waist pounds. Just apply the scrub on your waist, wrap with cling wrap, let it stay for 20 minutes then wash. I haven’t tried it yet, but Aromacology’s Angel, Ms. Vanessa, says it’s a winning plan.
There are other scents as well. I also like the Olive body scrub.
Cacao Body Butter
Also a well-loved vegan-friendly product, the cacao body butter is made from cocoa extracts. Best applied after a body scrub session, the cacao body butter will make your skin extra supple and smelling like chocolate you better wish a handsome one is sleeping beside you tonight. Wanna know why? He won’t be able to stop himself from touching you…and so much more!
Aromacology Tinted Lip Balm and Cheek Tint
Here’s another Godsent product for lazy makeup users like me. A sheer lipstick, lip balm and cheek tint in one, it will simplify your beauty routine without sacrificing the results. Best for everyday use and travelling. Make this your kikay kit staple and look glowing anytime, anywhere!
So that’s it for my lineup of Aromacology favourites. Head on to their main office at Mayon st. near Sampaguita Inn for a full product line experience, onsite sales (I hear body scrubs are still at 50% off!) and inquire about their dealership arrangements (25% off on ALL products FOREVER).
