If you haven’t experienced a foot spa in your life, now is probably the best time. It’s the perfect way to get your feet pampered and spend some peaceful me time in the midst of your hectic life.
Don’t fret; there are thousands of girls who never had a foot spa too. That is why we’ll walk you through. We’ll tell you what to expect so you don’t sound like a noob when you finally get to try that new foot spa promo at the salon around the corner.
The purpose of a foot spa is mainly for relaxation and for aesthetic improvement of your feet. First, your feet will be soaked in lukewarm to hot water, to clean it and soften the skin. Foot soak in the form of a soapy, bubbly solution, will also be added. This ranges from 10 to 15 minutes. After that, your feet will be dried with soft towels and they will start exfoliating your feet using a pumice stone or sandpaper. This is done to get rid of dead skin cells and calluses. After this, foot blush is usually added to add a little color to your feet. Then, they will finish off with lotion and a quick massage.
To make the most out of your foot spa, it’s better to book it with a full blown foot reflexology session. Thirty minutes will do. Top off with pedicure so your feet are ready to rock those flip flops and those pretty open-toed sandals. You’d end up feeling so relaxed and you go home with “artista looking” feet. Good looking feet are proven to contribute to the general level of attraction of a person, so you better welcome one or two foot spa sessions in a month! Don’t worry, it’s not too much.
If you’re worried about this being too much of a financial “extra”, don’t fret; the foot spa places that I go to don’t charge more than P500 for everything that I mentioned. Some salons even throw in FREE Paraffin Treatment, the one where melted wax is molded to your feet because it relaxes the nerves and improves the texture of your skin. Trust me, it’s worth it.
Let me know how your first foot spa trip went! But let me brag a little. Last year, I was forced to join a pageant for my Jaycees chapter. There was a shoe brand sponsor and they awarded a special award for the contestant with the best looking feet. Well, guess who won… *wink*
