I was never really that fond of makeup. For me, make up reminded me of work. And as much as I want to stay away from it, I need it to look more professional and to look more “believable”. I need to look like I value who I am meeting, so I put a little effort on how I appear when we actually meet.
My makeup basics are just that—basics. I use BB Cream as base (well it’s a beauty cream, sunblock, concealer and a primer in one), face powder and lip balm. Some days I use a lipstick. Some days I put on eye shadow when I needed to glam up a little for a client meeting. So really, just that. I even use affordable brands like Maybelline, Human Nature and Ever Bilena because I don’t want to spend a lot on makeup.
For most days, here’s how I look:
^THAT^ look was enough for me…until I came across the amazing cosmetic line of Natasha Beauty. I’ve never adored makeup like this way before. To top that off, Natasha cosmetics are really affordable! In fact, you can even order them on credit and just pay in the span of 30 days! (One-month-to-pay, ikanga. Inquire through a Natasha dealer near you.)
Amidst the regular excuses for not buying AND USING makeup (“Mahal!”, “Hindi bagay!” and “Walang panahon!”), Natasha Beauty shuns all of these and gives Filipinas lots of choices for affordable, high quality, non comedogenic make up. Here are my favorites:
I always hated eyeliner that make me look like a raccoon at the end of the day (or night). That’s why I’ll never be caught dead wearing black eyeliner. White eyeliner is sexy but unassuming, and it also wakes up my eyes in a different way. The best part: this Natasha eyeliner is the star for any day-to-night number. I wear it for my lower lids.
Eyeliner Trio in Mystique
I’ve always loved shades of bronze or brown for my eyes but I’ve also fancied using green for a sexier look. Green makes my brown eyes gleam, and make them look arresting. I wear them by their individual colors or together and the look is still smashing! Good thing I learned a thing or two about blending from my fab make up artist friends.
Fanny Serrano Eyelash Curler
I wish my eyelashes were a tad fuller and longer, but with a nice eyelash curler at hand, one is 50% relieved s/he doesn’t have to spend for fortnightly visits to the eyelash perming salon. This Fanny Serrano eyelash curler from Natasha Beauty is said to be a spinoff of the famous Shu Uemura eyelash curler. I could not agree more.
Diva Eau de Toilette (EDT)
Sure you look good but how can you announce your presence in a way that you won’t appear too condescending? Simple, thru a signature scent. I developed sincere infatuation for this scent because it’s fresh, spicy and unisex. Yes, it’s unisex! (Although that declaration was just based on my personal judgment. But I guess you trust me anyway. By now you are reading and believing 500 words from this blog post. Haha.)
