There are a lot of people who are just too stressed with their daily drill that even when they go to their beds and feel like ready to retire, they still feel like there are a lot of things which are running through their minds. Sadly, this happens mostly to women who juggle a lot of responsibilities—career, home, social life, personal growth, money, etc. Has this ever happened to you?
If it has and you don’t know how to deal with it, here are some easy-to-follow tips:
First, you have to keep your bed just a place for sleep. If you can, avoid bringing your laptop to your bed and doing some last-minute work. Just leave those at the office. Or have an office desk nearby and work there, but not on your bed. Keep your bed just a place to sleep and have some bedtime nooky—nothing more. Condition yourself to think of rest every time you climb on a bed.
Also, try to keep your bed as comfy and rest-conducive as possible. This tip ranges from the simplest (get a high quality mattress) to the most extravagant (lavender powder on the sheets). After all, how can your body and mind not respond to clean and nice smelling sheets and pillow cases, and a mattress that you can sink into comfortably?
It also helps to down a glass of hot milk just before you sleep. Although the bodily sleep-inducing benefits of this technique is still being debated upon, it is closely linked to your memories of good sleep while you were still a child. A lot of people say a long hot bath also contributes to your mind’s relaxation and eventually, this will induce a good night’s rest.
Keep a specified time schedule for sleeping. Have you ever heard of the term “body clock”? It’s a phrase that connotes a specified schedule that your body keeps and follows everyday. Your body clock takes note of your habits and then follows it. For example, if you sleep regularly every 8PM, then you will feel sleepy everytime 8PM comes around. Try to sleep regularly at a certain time and your body will just succumb to it. (To make something a habit, you have to do it for 20 times consistently.)
Follow these tips religiously and you’ll get some great shut-eye time. Tsk, it’s difficult to fight those undereye circles and dark spots. Very ugleh. The best eye creams cost a fortune as well. So just follow what I said, and tell me about your thoughts and comments when you wake up. Haha. Sweet dreams! *girlkiss* <3
